About Yvonne
Ngāti Hinerangi, Ngāti Raukawa, Ngāpuhi
Yvonne is a teacher, educationist, business owner, wife and mum who creates space for people to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with what matters most — especially during moments of exploration or uncertainty.
As an Enneagram Guide, Yvonne integrates her educational expertise in learning and epistemology with the Enneagram framework as a way of understanding the deeper patterns that influence how we think, feel, and interact in the world. Used in a practical and non-judgemental way, her aim is to help people make sense of what’s already present and provide greater clarity, without pressure or expectation.
She has supported individuals and groups across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand, working in education, finance, retail and hospitality. With a teaching background in tertiary education, Yvonne brings a thoughtful, grounded presence, offering guided conversations that feel both purposeful and at ease.
Why I Work With the Enneagram
I was always an avid learner, mostly with little awareness of what this meant - I was just the bookworm of the family who was more interested in reading than playing sports or hanging with other kids. Reading came easily which made the academic part of school a breeze. But making friends or being active, outgoing or sporty - those parts were a real struggle. Over time, I slowly improved, yet for all my accumulated book knowledge, nothing really helped me understand why I was wired this way. Not until I came across the Enneagram. It was a game changer!
Today, I work with the Enneagram because I believe its an incredibly clever framework that can enhance our lives in a number of ways:
It helps us understand ourselves with greater honesty and more compassion. I now know why I see the world through my perspective.
It helps us be more empathetic towards others’ perspectives. In addition to understanding my perspective, I can also relate to other peoples perspectives with greater ease because I now see how we all have something valuable to offer.
The Enneagram doesn’t just describe who we are; it points us towards who we can become. It’s a psycho-spiritual map for growth and encourages us to be the best version of ourselves.
One of my favourite quotes is from Russ Hudson who says, “the Enneagram doesn’t put us in a box. It helps us see the box we’re already in”. By seeing my type and patterns, I’ve gained more freedom in how I live because I’m no longer so constrained by the automatic programme that’s always running in the background.
Learning the Enneagram has given me the freedom to make conscious choices about how I live my life and I’m a much happier person for it. My aspiration is to make this incredible knowledge more accessible to anyone looking for the same because real happiness doesn’t need to be so elusive - everything we need is right here.
Enneagram Australia & Aotearoa NZ
As a founding board member of the IEA Australia & Aotearoa NZ, I work with the team to help shape the direction and growth of the Enneagram community across the region.
I bring a background in education and facilitation, with a focus on how people understand and apply the Enneagram in practical ways. My work emphasises clarity, depth, and real-world relevance—ensuring the Enneagram is both accessible and used with integrity.
