About Yvonne
Yvonne is a teacher, educationist, business owner, wife and mum who creates space for people to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with what matters most — especially during moments of change or transition.
She has supported individuals and groups across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand, working in education, finance, retail and hospitality. With a teaching background in tertiary education, Yvonne brings a thoughtful, grounded presence, offering guided conversations that feel both purposeful and at ease.
As an Enneagram Guide, Yvonne introduces the Enneagram as a way of understanding the deeper patterns that shape how we think, respond, and relate to the world. Used in a practical and non-judgemental way, it helps people make sense of what’s already present, supporting clarity without pressure or expectation.
Why I’m an Enneagram Guide
Growing up, I was fascinated by biographies and by people more broadly. From family and friends to well-known figures and everyday locals, I noticed the many differences in personality. Yet despite this variety, I came to believe that most people were confident and self-assured. Most, that is, except for me.
As a child, I was shy and awkward. Wherever I was, I often felt out of place, as though I didn’t quite belong. I remember wondering why I couldn’t be like other kids, but I had no idea how to be funny, outgoing, or at ease with people. My mind didn’t seem to work that way.
Over time, personality became an uncomfortable topic. My sensitivities led me into lots of time on my own where I wasn’t confronted by the tension of feeling different. In isolating myself, I reinforced the belief that I didn’t fit into what felt like a confusing and demanding world. Unlike the compelling biographies I admired as a child, my own story seemed destined to be about the one sitting out on the edge.
It wasn’t until I reached 40 that something shifted. I began to see that my interpretation of others as confident and self-assured was largely an illusion—one shaped by my own personality patterns. While I had some awareness of my patterns, I lacked the language to describe my internal experience with any real clarity. I didn’t understand myself as clearly as I thought.
Then I encountered the Enneagram.
It was so specific. This peculiar sounding system put into words aspects of my experience that I hadn’t been able to name. Nothing I had come across previously had come close. Where I had once observed life from behind a kind of invisible barrier, the Enneagram helped dissolve that distance. It marked the beginning of a more engaged and dynamic way of living. My relationships, communication, career, and, most significantly, my self-awareness, are profoundly better for this experience.
Identifying as a Type 5 was, at first, unsettling—but also clarifying and deeply meaningful. It changed the way I see the world, and more importantly, the way I participate in it. My experience became less about standing back and more about stepping into what matters most in my life. This is what sits behind The Enneagram Experience—not just understanding personality, but expanding the way we live within it.
